i was diagnosed with pagents disease, had a mastectomy, didn’t need radiation but because i have the her-2 i needed chemo. It’s a milder the of chemo called Kadcyla . I have it ones every 3 weeks, i have had two infusion so far, wondering if anyone else had had this type of breast cancer and chemo?

I've had Kadcyla as treatment before and from what I can remember, my side effects were worst some days after the infusion days. nothing too horrible, some fatigue, and muscle soreness. I will say after my first 5ish sessions, i started getting bad headaches a few days after infusion days as well as queasiness, constipation, indigestion. overall the process is just long and tedious, so that might have contributed to how i was feeling in the later parts of treatment. wishing you the best in your treatment.
Hi Macky! Keeping you in my prayers and wishing you a smooth journey!
I don’t have personal experience with Kadcyla or Paget’s disease, but I do know from others that Kadcyla is a targeted therapy, so it “locks onto” HER2-positive cells and delivers chemo directly into them. Because of that, some people find the side effects come in more predictable waves rather than feeling constant like with traditional chemo. One thing people sometimes mention is that fatigue can feel a bit delayed. Not always the same day, but often 2-4 days after infusion, so planning rest around that window can help.
Another thing I’ve heard is that even though it’s considered more targeted, Kadcyla can still affect platelets and liver…
